With stackable tops and bottoms, the full thickness, natural ledge stone is graded to a 3"-5" bed depth. The face values average 2"-4" tall and 6"-8" wide, however, each pallet contains an assortment of face values, for maximum variety and interest. Highlands ledge is recommended for building stone veneer, retaining walls and other landscaping applications - especially attractive as a "dry stack" installation. The ledge grade will yield 30-35 square, per ton.

The squares and recs grade has a bed depth range of 3"-6". Square and rectangular face values average a square foot in size, ranging from 8" square to a 12" by 15" rectangle. The faces of the stone are natural, with split or natural sides, tops and bottoms. Expect 35-40 square feet of coverage, per ton. A tumbled version is available, in this stone and grade and produces an excellent material for use in exterior wall veneer, large scale fireplaces, patios and pathways.

Step grade stone can range from 5"-8" rises (height), with lengths ranging from 3'-7' and tread depths (width) averaging 2.5'-3.5'. An average step is 3'-5'L by 2.5'D by 7"H and weighs between 700-1,000 pounds each. Steps will have a relatively smooth top, with some natural clefting.
