Stone from Moose Mountain marries the colors from the nearby Castle Rock and McGregor Lake quarries, which makes it an excellent choice to blend with our most popular stone. Castle Rock is a rich, dramatic stone that hails from North Western Montana. A striking color of Chief Cliff argillite, Castle Rock is primarily dark gray, with chocolate brown and light tan tones. The quarry is on a high, alpine, talus slope and the stone yielded has a dark patina and occasionally dark lichen, from exposure to the elements.
The sweeping prairies of Central Montana yield a very sought after sandstone…prized for its feel and coloring. This is a fieldstone quarry that produces a soft, tactile stone revered for its neutral coloring, with a preponderance of tan and subtle sage green. Stone from Elk Mountain is naturally flat and rectangular and historically has produced remarkable, large slabs. Frequently, this stone is preferred tumbled, which lends a sense of history with smooth, rounded edges.
A mossy sandstone from the plains of Central Montana, this stone is ideal for the rustic lodge style, so prevalent in the Rockies. Predominately brown with red undertones. This stone has and green and gray lichen. Sizes and shapes vary from ledge stone to random. Montana Moss Rock is a perfect choice for complimenting your mountain log cabin or dream prairie homestead.

Montana Antique is an argillite from Western Montana, with predominately dark brown and a hint of red color. The rich color tone works exceptionally well with deep, warm toned wood.
